This film will be a three-part series that will include interviews with adult men and women adoptee’s who grew up in the system, sharing what life was like living in foster care adoptive homes. We are forced to assimilate into someone else’s environment and are always looking from outside the box, trying to fit in. People have been brainwashed to see adoption as this great fairy tale story with a happy ending for everyone. Adoptees want everyone to know that there is no healing in secrecy. We are isolated and kept from having any contact with our biological family. We can’t write letters, see, or talk to any extended family. This hurt is something you can never know. We hope the film project will open eyes and lighten our dark unseen world so we can have candid conversations about what really matters to us. This has a chance to raise the consciousness to a level of understanding of our feelings, rights, and dignity. The stories and struggles will be the film's main features. Supporting this film project will allow us to control the narrative.
